Jacques Attali - Essence Statement

Jacques Attali

Professor of Economics, writer, honorary member to state, Jacques Attali is one of the most prominent public intellectuals of the century.
He talks about microfinance, technology, strategy and music. Viewing music as a predictive science of cultural, political & geopolitical change; Attali takes his audience on a brief journey back in time, building analogies between our relationship to music and transformation of power and technology.
He argues that in musical performance we can find references to individualism, market economy, consumerism, globalisation and even nationalisation. Through his intriguing, eerily relevant theory, Attali discusses the value placed on consumer experience and scarcity of time; adding that businesses and institutions will have to become “performance” places as well to stay relevant to the consumer of the future.
