Maria Ramos's Biography

Maria Ramos is a journalist and international news anchor for the 24-hour news channel TRT World in Istanbul. She presents the channel’s flagship news programme ‘News Hour with Maria Ramos’. You can watch Maria anchoring live from Istanbul daily throughout the week. She’s also had key on-screen roles at the BBC, Bloomberg and CNBC in London and the Middle East. At TRT Maria was one of the network’s election presenters becoming the first person to use augmented reality at TRT World. She has also interviewed many leading international figures from the worlds of politics and finance. Maria is a very experienced and accomplished conference host, winning plaudits for her work moderating panels for the United Nations and hosting UNICEF’s Global debates. During her seven years in the Middle East, Maria worked as a newsreader in Bahrain and also reported from Syria, Jordan, Turkey and the UAE.In London, she hosted Bloomberg TV’s Breakfast World News and covered the 2008 financial crisis from London and Spain.Maria ran her own international media consultancy and has worked closely with the CEO of Formula E taking the company from startup to a fully-fledged global series in just three years. She has been pivotal in successfully establishing the global brand and media relationships worldwide.Maria speaks fluent Spanish, French and Italian as well as basic Arabic.
