Over the course of the London 2012 games, she became an icon of the games after winning Great Britain’s first ever female boxing Gold, having defeated three time world champion Red Cancan She instantly became a role model, realising her dream in front of millions, as the nation tuned in to see the world’s best female boxers come toe-to-toe for the first time in the Olympic Games.

In recognition of her services to boxing and unprecedented achievement, Nicola was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 New Year’s Honours list. She was made an OBE in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list.

On screen, Nicola has grown into an extremely likeable TV personality, featuring on a number of entertainment shows across BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky. Nicola has starred in the BAFTA nominated Goggle Box (Channel 4) and Bear Grylls Wild Adventure (ITV).

In 2020, Nicola made history once again on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as she featured in the competition’s first same-sex pairing. Most recently, Nicola unveiled her new documentary “Lionness: The Nicola Adams Story’ by Amazon Prime, launched on the 12thof November 2021.
