Alexia Williams MBE is an award-winning engineer, senior technical leader, and nationally recognised voice in skills, apprenticeships, and workforce transformation across UK industry.
She began her career as an Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprentice and progressed rapidly into senior technical leadership within a global engineering organisation, while completing a Master’s Degree Apprenticeship in Through-Life Engineering Services at Cranfield University. She became a Chartered Engineer at the age of 25, one of only 12 women ever to achieve chartered status at or below this age. She has also received 27 national and regional awards recognising her contribution to engineering, skills development, and early career excellence.
She was awarded an MBE for services to skills and education, recognising her contribution to strengthening technical education pathways and expanding access to high-quality careers in engineering.
Alongside her professional career, she has held several national leadership and governance roles, including Chair of the Skills England Apprentice Panel, Trustee of Enginuity, Non-Executive Director of EAL, and Chair of the MAKE UK Future Makers. Through these positions, she helps shape national skills policy and ensures the voices of apprentices, educators, and employers influence the future of technical education.
She is a sought-after keynote speaker on apprenticeships, leadership, engineering, and social mobility, bringing a rare combination of lived experience and national influence. Her work focuses on strengthening the UK skills pipeline and expanding access to high-quality technical careers, particularly for underrepresented groups in STEM.
